Tesco Bank is hoping to boost its promotional activity with the appointment of a new marketing boss.
Chris Pitt has been named as the company's new director of marketing, reporting directly to chief executive Benny Higgins, Marketing magazine reports.
He will leave behind a top media sales job at HSBC, where he is the bank's head of marketing and customer propositions.
Mr Pitt will take up the role with Tesco Bank later this month, filling the void left by the departure of Paulette Rowe last summer.
Ms Rowe was responsible for marketing the launch of the first Tesco Bank branches in Tesco Extra stores in Coventry and Blackpool.
The appointment of Mr Pitt comes as the financial services firm is looking to enter the UK mortgage and current account markets in the coming years.
Tesco Bank currently offers a range of financial products and services, including insurance, credit cards, loans and savings.
