Trinity mirror to close nine titles

The group has announced that a total of nine regional newspapers are set to cease publication.
Media jobs are set to be lost after the announcement, including 17 journalist positions, with a total of nearly 120 jobs said to be at risk.
Georgina Harvey, managing director of Trinity Mirror regional publications, said: "These actions announced today are designed to protect our Midlands businesses and the majority of their employees.
"In addition we are offering the opportunity for staff in other parts of our Midlands businesses not affected by these proposals to volunteer for redundancy."
It was revealed earlier this week that the National Union of Journalists is preparing a ballot of around 150 of its members to decide whether strike action is necessary, with regards to the potential job losses.
Trinity Mirror publishes more than 100 regional newspapers and five nationals including the Daily Mirror.
