Orion Media appoints new chairman

Orion Media was created in May 2009, after Global Radio's sale of eight radio licenses for stations in the Midlands.
Geoff Percy, who initially worked in marketing and sales at Smith & Nephew, has a track record of successful rebranding of household names such as Simple.
Some of the stations owned by the group include Beacon, Wyvern and Mercia.
On his appointment, he said: "Orion Media is a business which offers very exciting opportunities for future growth, and I am very much looking forward to working with the highly experienced management team at Orion, with their unrivalled sector knowledge, in achieving our ambition of becoming the best radio group in the UK."
In addition to his executive work, Mr Percy was also regional chair of the Confederation of British Industry and is well-known for focusing the agenda on the skills shortage and the necessity of education to address this.
