DMA chief announces departure

The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is on the hunt for a new chief of membership and brand following Robert Keith's announcement that he will be stepping down.

The media sales professional will continue with his day-to-day duties until the end of this month. He will also act as the organisation's media spokesman until July.

Mr Keith was appointed to the role - which had just been created - in 2009 after three years as the DMA's director of media channel development and environmental affairs.

Commenting on his departure, he said he was "proud" of his achievements but felt it was time to take on new challenges.

DMA chairman David Metcalfe added: "Robert's passion, experience and depth and breadth of knowledge have made him a tremendous asset to the DMA."

The organisation's directors will share Mr Keith's responsibilities until a suitable replacement can be found.

The DMA acts as a protector, contact point and regulator of best practice for consumers as well as promoting the business interests of its members and driving growth in the direct marketing industry.
