Departure of Unilever's marketing chief leaves top job vacant

A spokesman said Simon Clift has simply decided it is time to move on and intends to retire so that he can spend more time with his family.
He does not have another media job lined up, but is hoping to pursue "other creative opportunities" in the future.
Mr Clift was the first ever chief marketing officer at Unilever and has been responsible for developing the manufacturer's marketing strategy across its most popular brands, including Dove and Lynx.
Prior to his appointment to this role, he held jobs as chairman for personal care products in Latin America and global president of marketing.
Unilever manufacturers products across 14 different categories and has a total of 400 brands worldwide. It employs 174,000 people in 100 different countries.
