Sky Sports ends editorial partnership with Haymarket

27 November 2009 16:37

BSkyB is to begin publishing its Sky Sports magazine in house, after terminating its editorial relationship with Haymarket Media Group (HMG).

Haymarket Network has worked on the magazine since January 2007, when it was first launched.

But according to Media Week, itself a subsidiary of HMG, a resourcing review convinced the television broadcaster to bring the magazine in house, in light of its growing editorial capabilities.

Some 4.2 million subscribers to the Sky Sports TV channels receive a copy of the publication every month.

Andrew Taplin, managing director of the Haymarket Network, was quoted by Media Week as saying: "Haymarket is very proud of its close working relationship with Sky in the creation and development of Sky Sports magazine over the past three years."

Sky Sports magazine is produced monthly and also publishes content online for the Sky Sports website.

Haymarket claims the title is the highest-circulating sports magazine in the world. As well as features and previews, it also contains television listings for the month ahead.
