Marketers in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector may be more in demand, as consumer confidence grows.
The British Retail Consortium revealed last week in its latest Confidence Index that consumer confidence is at its highest in almost three years.
It was three points higher than the last quarter of 2009.
This could mean more opportunities for FCMG sales professionals, according to one industry expert.
Rob Scott, who works in the recruitment industry, has said: "I think that people are fed up with feeling poor.
"We sort of went through a period - in the latter part of 2008-09 - of real austerity where people were really focusing on paying their debt back and people did not make purchases on clothes and consumer goods.
"People have started to treat themselves again in a way that has been put on hold because they were taking austere measures."
