Sport Media looking to sell Front?

30 June 2009 17:28

Sport Media publishing group may be trying to offload its 'lads mag' Front after having owned the title for just a single year.

That is according to Media Week which claims that the title is being sold in an effort to 'sure up finances'.

Media Week reported that a number of publishers have been approached with a view to selling the magazine which has been published since 1998 under various owners.

It was reported in February that the group was looking to sell the entire company after a decline in sales left the company facing a difficult position in the troubled market.

However, after recently posting a sales increase the group may be selling Front in an effort to decrease its debt pile, which is said to stand at £12 million.

Sport Media Group voluntarily removed itself from ABC circulation data in March 2009 but claimed that its newspapers the Sport and Sunday Sport enjoyed a rise in readership during May.
