Ford Ennals to lead digital radio switchover

Ford Ennals, the former head of Digital UK, has been named as the chief executive of Digital Radio UK.
His appointment comes before the government publishes its Digital Economy Bill, which is expected to set out details about the future of digital radio.
The TV switchover is now well underway, with analogue signals being switched off in various parts of the UK.
In the Digital Britain report, released this summer, the government proposed to do the same with radio as soon as 2015.
Mr Ennals will lead the cross-industry body that will prepare the UK for the switchover through promotion and education.
In addition to setting out digital radio plans, the Digital Economy Bill will also contain measures to tackle internet piracy.
