GMTV chief steps down

5 March 2010 16:49

The chief operating officer at GMTV has announced he is stepping down after 18 years at the helm of the breakfast television company.

Clive Crouch will leave the broadcaster at the end of the month. Making the announcement, he said it was simply time for him to move on.

He was part of the team that launched GMTV and acted as the company's sales and marketing director for 15 years.

His departure comes just a few months after ITV took full control of GMTV, acquiring the remaining 25 per cent stake in the business.

"GMTV is in great shape, and I leave the business in the best possible place to meet the challenges that lie ahead," said Mr Crouch.

Meanwhile, ITV has announced that it made a pre-tax profit of £25 million last year, bringing it back into the black.

Adam Crozier is due to take up his position as chief executive of the broadcaster on April 26th.
