HEAD OF SEO & SOCIAL
The role
As Head of SEO you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our existing SEO work. Part of the SEO role is growing and nurturing our social offering and looking at the synergy between these 2 channels. You will manage a team of 3 SEO Strategist's and the Social Media Director who also manages a team of 2 so you will have overall responsibility for 6 staff across SEO & Social.
The role is both a management and a client facing role, and you will be part of the digital leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver integrated SEO solutions for our clients. Working together with PPC, Social and other channels to ensure the clients get the most effective and efficient campaign.
*Be a key person in pitches for the agency work with managing partners and other parts of the business to deliver a strategy for the pitch backed up with latest SEO data and insights.
*As a department head, you will be responsible for the recruitment, development, motivation and retention of a scalable team, able to facilitate delivery of SEO.
*Mentor the team of managers and ensure they in turn mentor their direct reports. Be a first point of contact for other teams in the agency when they require assistance and/or training.
*Reporting to and managing internal stakeholders, providing support in client presentations and helping with new business proposals
*Create best practice and processes for each product delivered by the SEO team
*Collaborate with the Search Technology team to maintain search technology best practices, build out SEO tools and systems, and to produce scalable processes that allow for delivery of full search services
*Provide training and support to your team on best practice, processes and use of tools and systems.
*Provide assistance with all aspects of SEO where required across the group

Your Profile
*Experience of managing an SEO team is essential
*At least 3 years hands-on experience in SEO, preferably with an agency background
*Highly technical knowledge of all aspects of SEO including keyword research, competitor analysis, site audits & optimisation and all off-site promotion
*Knowledge of website management tools, including CMS systems
*Knowledge of spider based technologies
*Knowledge of Site Analytics solutions such as Google Analytics and WebTrends
*Excellent knowledge in HTML, XHTML, CSS, W3C, RSS, XML, PHP, SQL, IIS, Apache/mod_rewrite and DNS
*Excellent knowledge of site analytics solutions such as GA, Omniture and WebTrends
