Head of Logistics
The Company
Our client through its publishing and conferences and events business focus on the wholesale telecommunications market and carrier-to-carrier business. Through their conferences they a hold a series of events around the globe, focused on the business of wholesale telecommunication.
The Role
The Head of Logistics will be responsible for the logistics for a portfolio of 15 large-scale, international events as well as any new events which are developed.

The role will involve management, training and development of the logistics and registration team for the events as well as managing some events directly.

The Head of Logistics will have full responsibility for ensuring that all logistical aspects of the events are delivered seamlessly and within budget.

The Head of Logistics will be responsible for negotiating hotel contracts, working internationally, working on complex events with exhibitions, sponsorships and conference sessions, dealing with high-level sponsors and liaising with external suppliers.

The Person
Key responsibilities include:

*Ensure the team is structured in the right way to achieve the most efficient performance
*Venue sourcing for new/alternative venues and cities
*Getting proposals and analysing them to recommend suitable venues
*Responsible for final contract negotiation with chosen venues
*Identifying and negotiating with suitable suppliers for signage, av companies, translators, security, hostesses or other merchandise as necessary. Ensuring that suppliers are fully briefed to our expectation of standards and all prices are negotiated and regularly bench-marked
*Cost control: maintaining tight budget control for events (working with the team - when necessary for their own events) ensuring that all items are fully negotiated and driven down to the most competitive pricing for the venue.
*Highlighting any pricing or cost concerns before items are confirmed - if necessary to change forecast
*Ensuring that sponsorship contracts are fulfilled 100% accurately and cost efficiently
*Reviewing sponsored branding for function and general sponsor branding
