Global Account Director- Emerging Markets

The Company

My client provides strategic intelligence for Global Multi-National Companies through the Council on Emerging Markets. This is done by providing a portfolio of solutions- syndicated research, customised research, in additional to an invitation-only network consisting of cross-industry peers, expert advisors, and analysts with experience in emerging markets. This provides executives with valuable insight and real-time solutions to execute on their most pressing business priorities. As a business, my client are an innovative and entrepreneurial information services firm focused exclusively on helping senior executives Heads of Region/ General Manager running large multinationals succeed in emerging markets. Their clients are all within the Fortune 500 and receive access to a unique network of executives and experts working in emerging markets, and cutting-edge research. They seek an exceptional candidate with a track record of success in their chosen field and a passion for emerging markets.

The Role

My client are looking to hire a Global Account Director to be based in London and you will report into the EMEA Head of Sales, selling into an EMEA territory. Ultimately, you will be targeted at managing my clients Global key accounts, of which all will be covering the emerging markets. Your clients will generally be at "Country Head" or "Heads of" level and will be the largest companies in the world. You will be charged with cultivating and developing relationships at the executive level through a consultative sales process, and are responsible for introducing existing clients both to the subscription based service and to Advisory Service solutions whilst of course, retaining the renewal and business. Average subscription order values are circa 75k Euros and this is a highly solutions focused, consultative large ticket sales role within the business information market space. This role will involve lots of International travel and on occasions you may wake up in a different city in Europe every day of the week, therefore it is key that you have the hunger, tenacity and confidence that you can be successful in a role such as this.

Your Profile

To be successful, you will be comfortable in presenting intangible products to clients, and have a credible approach to pitching to Heads of level within Multi-National Companies. You will have to have intellectual curiosity to master their subject matter, with strong commercial instincts and excellent business understanding and will likely have a minimum of 5 years experience from the online information or advisory market space. Ideally, you will have a strong academic track record and will have international sales experience. You are more likely to have experience of successfully managing large subscription deals with Corporate clients, at senior level. Additionally, you will have a proven track record of success, have excellent prospecting, needs analysis, negotiating, retention and account management skills and will be hungry for career success. Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial and creative, with a demonstrated ability to operate successful in challenging and demanding environments.
