
Business Development Manager- Financial Information
The Company
My client is a leading Global publisher that specialise within the financial markets. They produce leading information, publications and events and are renowned for developing new exciting products and this is the latest key product launch. You would be responsible to spearhead this product and work with senior members within the business to drive its growth. Additional tools would be that you have the use of an internal database, marketing functions and cross-selling between other arms of the business to assist with lead generation. Please note, that this role will involve International travel- including to the States and Asia in particular therefore you must be happy/be excited by International travel, to be considered for this role.
The Role
You will be responsible to develop a strong pipeline of new business while converting existing prospects to clients, by developing relationships at the most senior level. You will be developing new business within the existing client base of potential clients and will be expected to develop pure new business and bring new clients on board. Your clients are likely to be Senior Credit Analysts within Investment Banks- these individuals don't have a lot of time, therefore you will need to make an impact immediately through a solid introduction, good probing and solid sales skills. The role will be selling multi-user annual financial information subscriptions at a minimum of £20k+, with the value that it will save your client both time and money as will act as an integrated work flow solution to their daily workload. There are currently no key competitors within the market, therefore this is a fantastic opportunity to grow this arm of the business and champion its growth.
Your Profile
As Business Development Manager within the Financial Business Information field, ideally you will have come from an information, data or financial newswire. You will have a minimum of 3 years sales experience within this field and will have a new business sales track record in successfully closing business with the Banks and Financial institutions. You are likely to be unfazed by pitching to senior level within Banks and will have strong sales pipeline management experience, with the ability to close complex deals.
